Heat rises off
glistening sapodilla coloured flesh
as pitch black curls cascade
fiercely along a taut spine,
long legs folded tight.
A puzzle, even when held together.
And through daunting silence
an explosion of cherry reds and oranges
rip across the unsuspecting sky.
Over untamed sea lines
long since carved from virgin lands,
without the aid of man.
