Fever – Adrienne Christian

Artist’s Statement: I shot this image in Tucson, Arizona. It was summertime — 118 degrees during the day, 90+ degrees at night. It was so hot, people were literally taking off their clothes and walking the streets in their underwear. It was so hot, stray dogs’ paws were melting into the Arizona asphalt. Sadly, this woman was arrested for public indecency almost immediately after I took her picture.

About the Artist: Adrienne Christian’s photography has been featured in The Tishman Review and the moonShine Review. Her poetry has been featured in The LA Review, Alimentum, Concis, and frogpond. She is currently earning her PhD in English and Art from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. When she is not working, she is traveling, baking bread, or eating it.
