Tears of Tomorrow – Jamie Wynter

The streets of suburbia
burning hot parking lots
on Sunday afternoons
Closed office buildings
Shades drawn
Alarms set
There is a sense of impending doom
down your big gulp
light your cigarette
we have to get out before we lose ourselves
The summer has come at last
my hair is glued to the carpet
there is still hot dogs in the fridge
I forgot to tell you
I hate your new dress
