Artist’s Note: This photograph was taken at the Sedlec Ossuary in the Czech Republic. The bones pictured are just one arrangement of the collection of 40,000+ skeletons collected after the Black Death and Hussite Wars that couldn’t be accommodated in the church‘s cemetery.
A Los Angeles native with a thirst for the world, Lauren West leapt from the City of Angels to chase a global life. Lauren currently finds herself on Jeju Island, the honeymoon capital of South Korea, hands filled with the chubby cheeks of the Korean children she teaches. Her blog, Television of Nomads, is named after her exchange with Berber nomads in the Moroccan desert during a formative backpacking trip, and documents her travels through photography, videography, and writing.
