Harmon the Holiest of Vermins – Alex Encomienda

In this little home of vermins and elves,

I am the holiest and the prudent of these walls.

In this feeble town of blackhearts and holes,

I am of pockmarked flesh and animal wool.

In this coil of autumns and ambers,

I am the one who embodies purity; piety.

Yet deep in these walls I feel like running wild,

And deep in these crowds I feel like carrying despair;

I am of hearkened ears the stories from the other lads.

Alex R. Encomienda is an author of poetry and fiction. He began writing at age nine and since then attended writing workshop classes and lecture classes taught by established authors. He was recently featured in The Opiate Magazine’s Spring issue.
